Idemitsu Kosan marks its first ethanol transaction in Vietnam, contributing to the foundation for the E10 gasoline market

On October 12, 2026, approximately 4,000 CBM of ethanol supplied by Idemitsu Kosan Group arrived at Nghi Son Port in Thanh Hoa province. The shipment represents Idemitsu Kosan’s first ethanol order in Vietnam, marking a new milestone in the Group’s ethanol business and opening the way for longer-term collaboration to support the development of a supply foundation for Vietnam’s E10 gasoline market.

Welcoming the first ethanol shipment arrival

The shipment was made possible through the combination of Idemitsu Kosan Group’s global sourcing and trading capabilities and Idemitsu Vietnam’s (IKCV) local network, relationship-building expertise and market knowledge. By bringing together global capabilities and local strengths, Idemitsu is taking concrete steps toward establishing a collaborative platform with partners across Vietnam’s ethanol supply chain.

Accordingly, IKCV serves as a strategic bridge, connecting global resources with key domestic energy entities. This collaboration lays a solid groundwork for a partnership between Idemitsu Kosan and Vietnamese entities on the green energy transition journey in Vietnam.
